Question regarding experience added by Ye Jin
email
Hello, I am very interested in participating in the Kopan Monastery Retreat. However, I have no prior experience in such things and I wonder if I should take a course in my hometown before I attempt to come to Tibet? Also, would age be a deciding factor? I am 18 years old by the way.
23 April 2008

Webmaster comments: -  You don't need prior experience, but if there's a course or Dharma centre in your hometown, you should check it out. There are all ages who attend the meditation retreat at Kopan, from 18 to 80!

A lovely hello to someone who can help me,
I am planning a one-month-retreat this year in the Kopan Monastery and I would like to know, if it is easy to get a study-place there, when I register per e-mail (because of the number of attendings)? Because I really want to make the experience of Kopan....Tina

how do i go on month long retreats? added by Anthony Camire
email | url
i need to find atleast a one to three month retreat where i can reliev stress maybe do yoga and meditate constantly, i want to find myself and im itching to pack up and find myself. So please any help on anything regarding retreats and such please email me back and let me know how i go about doing so.
thank you
27 June 2007

Webmaster comments: -  As a suggestion, if you haven't done a long term retreat before you may want to start with something a bit shorter (10 days or one month). The retreats at Kopan monastery focus on Buddhist teachings, not yoga. If you are in Canada, try checking out the Buddhist listings page here: http://www.buddhist.ca/buddhism_religion_canada_links.html
